Jimmy Hoffa Jr. Declares War on Baggers:

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa said to a heavily union crowd.

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.

...stirring rhetoric indeed..

A burning question:

Will Barack Obama condemn Joe Biden and Jimmy Hoffa for calling Republicans 'barbarians' and 'son of a bitches'...

Biden, whose mouth has long been a liability for Obama, was at an AFL-CIO rally when he told union members: “You are the only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates…the other side has declared war on labour’s house.”

Hoffa’s comments were much worse than Biden’s, though the vice-president’s demeanour suggests he could be a liability on the campaign trail (I’d wager there’s a campaign plan for him to be used only in “rev up the base” type events). Put together, they are embarrassing enough to require an apology from Obama.

....frankly, I wish they would all get so tangled up calling each other names and declearing war on one another that they forget about us and then maybe, just maybe, we could get out of this mess...

You know when you've lost this guy you're in trouble:

Though many stars have already signed on to support Obama’s re-election, not everyone in Hollywood is happy with the president. The latest disillusioned celeb: Robert Redford.

The actor has penned a column in the Huffington Post questioning Obama's dedication to environmental causes.

“One reason I supported President Obama is because he said we must protect clean air, water and lands. But what good is it to say the right thing unless you act on it?” Redford writes. “Since early August, three administration decisions -- on Arctic drilling, the Keystone XL pipeline and the ozone that causes smog -- have all favored dirty industry over public health and a clean environment. Like so many others, I'm beginning to wonder just where the man stands.”

I knew those recent eco- decisions would spell trouble for the parsdent, between this and the recent NASCAR snubbing I'm thinking more and more about throwing my whole hearted support behind this president...I'm getting everything I want with him, filthy air, filthy water, a bigger ozone hole, sunspots, solar flares, waterboarding, GITMO's still open, Bin Laden's dead, my guy's toast anyway so I am officially disillusioned...I know it's a bit early to be disillusioned but hey, this is America goddammit...

No new Qaddafi sightings:

Scores of Libyan army vehicles have crossed the desert frontier into Niger in what may be a dramatic, secretly negotiated bid by Muammar Qaddafi to seek refuge in a friendly African state, military sources from France and Niger told Reuters on Tuesday, amid reports that the effort to track down Qaddafi is being led by competing factions of military commanders and bounty hunters.

A convoy of between 200 and 250 vehicles was given an escort by the army of Niger, a poor and landlocked former French colony to the south of Libya. It might, according to a French military source, be joined by Qaddafi en route for neighboring Burkina Faso, which has offered him asylum, according to Reuters.

Niger Foreign Minister Mohamed Bazoum, meanwhile, said that Qaddafi was not in the convoy that crossed the border from Libya into Niger.
