This is about sensibilities.<br /><br />Dr. Gore is an extremely sensitive man who is not just capable of reading the thoughts of millions but also has the ability to form accurate mental images of what the Earth will look like 50 or a 100 years hence. Very few human beings possess this mental facility. He must concentrate intensely in order for these words and images to appear.
